Affordable Gingham Throw Pillows

I love love love all things gingham! I think it’s such a classic pattern and I love how it’s become popular again in recent years! When I began the search for apartment decor, I knew I wanted to incorporate gingham but I wasn’t sure how or in which room/how many rooms. I decided throw pillows were the perfect way to bring this pattern into the living room for some navy accents.

Since we have a small couch and hardly any storage space, I only really needed two throw pillows and I wasn’t interested in finding pillow covers and then buying pillow inserts. Most places I looked were selling throw pillow covers, many way more expensive than what I was looking to pay for two pillows.

I found these adorable pillows at Walmart.com for just $12.88 each! And they’re available in a few other colors as well! The pillows are 18”x18” and have a great piping detail along the edges. I love the texture and quality!

Random Side Note

I was curious how to differentiate between gingham and buffalo check. In most places where you find this type of plaid on an item for sale, the description may use the terms interchangeably, which is confusing to me. There must be a difference or why do we have two names?? From what I can find on the worldwide web, it seems gingham is the checked plaid such as that seen on the pillows and buffalo check (AKA buffalo plaid) is a large checked pattern (very similar to the pillows) but containing black as one of the two colors. There are many different opinions out there so you may disagree, but this helps me keep the two separate. Both are attractive but I prefer gingham!!
