Grilled Havarti and Honeycrisp
The Fancy Grilled Cheese Chronicles continue!! I think this is Part III? Honestly, this might be the best one yet! A little sweet, a little savory… hang with me because you’re in for a treat!
I made this for lunch today and devoured it! This is so tasty! If you’re looking to add a little more protein, I think I’d go with sliced turkey deli meat although I didn’t do that today because we just don’t keep that kind of deli meat around with Darrell’s poultry allergy.
Makes 1 sandwich.
Ingredients
2 slices of Schar Gluten Free Artisan Baker White Bread
1 slice Havarti Cheese (I found packaged slices at Trader Joe’s)
3 slices of Honeycrisp Apple (thinly sliced)
Shredded Cheddar (as much as you’d like)
1 slice bacon (crumbled)
Honey (just a drizzle)
Butter
Directions
Melt 1 tbsp butter in skillet over medium-low heat. Add bread and coat both sides of each slice with the melted butter.
Build sandwich: layer Havarti slice, apple slices, bacon, drizzle of honey, shredded cheese. Top with second slice of bread.
Add 1 tbsp butter to pan and flip once sandwich begins to brown or cheese begins to melt.
Once both sides have reached desired browning, plate and serve warm.
