It’s definitely been a minute [more like a year and a half] since I last blogged… 😱 How did that happen?!
Well you see what happened was… haha… this blog led me to start a business and then along the way I had some babies and the business grew a lot and the blog got put on the back burner. I have been itching to get back to writing and this creative outlet for so so soooo long. At least a solid year now. But it’s been a doozy of a year. As we close out 2024, I feel like a completely different person than who I was even just a few months ago.
Last holiday season, the business (Grace & Grandeur) was BOOMING like to the point I was really struggling to keep up. I was about to give birth to Teddy and we were experiencing record breaking sales due to some creator videos featuring our products went viral. It was snowballing and we were doing our best. But I was super stressed out and actually found myself in the hospital for some complications a few weeks before Teddy actually arrived, I think in large part due to the stress. Obviously, I am super grateful for the “success” but it provided so much wisdom that definitely had me reevaluating some of those reach-for-the-moon type goals entering 2024. Oh and I came away from the 4 month stretch of absolute chaos with a lot of nerve damage! I literally made so many bows it broke me LOL. Who knew?!
So anyway, I continued to make bows like crazy after Teddy was born, just put him in the Solly wrap and Darrell set up a work station beside the bed, mere days after we came home and thankfully Morgan learned how to make bows quickly and began helping me crank them out as fast as possible. Seriously could not have survived without her this year.
We got a major surprise in the spring with a positive pregnancy test and over the summer learned we’d be welcoming a baby girl! I was absolutely over the moon. Days after we’d picked out her name we found out we’d lost her. I was induced that night and delivered our precious angel baby Madeline. It’s been three months today and we are still reeling from the loss. I hope to share more about her and the many ways God spoke to us through her story at some point. To say my heart is shattered is an understatement. But I have found it is bringing me closer to God everyday.
And a lot of other good and crappy things also happened that I’ll probably share more about it in the coming months. It has been a wild ride, much akin to 2020 honestly - just in very different ways.
So as time marches on, it feels like so much has been put into perspective. And I want to embrace life to the fullest, part of which is getting back to writing. I’ve kept the IG & TikTok handle for TAA where I am going to possibly explore sharing blog updates & additional content. But you can always just check back here. I’m ready to share more about what we’re loving in the kitchen lately too! So much to share.
