Life Changes
Hey friends! I know it’s been a while. In case you hadn’t heard, we’re down to the wire on wedding planning… Oh, and we are moving to NYC…?! So we’re hanging on to our seats on this wild ride and doing the best we can.
I decided to take a break from the To Do List to write a post because writing is very therapeutic for me and while I’ve felt it necessary to move TAA (The Amateur Apron) to the back burner momentarily, I wonder if I should embrace it instead.
In the car this afternoon one of my favorite artists came on the radio, Thomas Rhett, with his hit “Life Changes.” It’s one of those songs that you can’t help but smile when you hear it. It’s so true, life changes, a lot. And I love how his lyrics just lean into that change and help us remember what a blessed life we’ve been granted.
If you haven’t heard it before, I highly recommend giving it a listen, but here’s the chorus:
Ain't it funny how life changes
You wake up, ain't nothing the same and life changes
You can't stop it, just hop on the train and
You never know what's gonna happen
You make your plans and you hear God laughing
Life changes, and I wouldn't change it for the world, the world, oh no
And I wouldn't change it for the world, the world, oh no
To be super real with you all, we’ve sucked at keeping up with family and friends during this transition. We’ve been asked so many questions we don’t have the answers for and we’ve had to make so many decisions so quickly that we’re just too tired to chat about them once they’re made and we move on to the next factor to figure out.
I hate that I haven’t had a food post for you lately but I hope everyone understands. I have dreamed of getting “skinny” before the wedding and earlier in the year had a solid plan for doing so, but… Let’s just say it’s a good thing my dress came in slightly larger than necessary… We’re not proud of it but we’ve ate pizza a few times a week for the last few weeks… LOL.
So here’s a tie-in for the foodies following along… (insert laughing crying emoji)
My top three local pizza delivery chains for GF pizza:
Papa John’s
Donato’s
Domino’s
Other random life details I’ll share while I have a moment to spare:
I’m selling my car! I’ll need it for a little while longer and I’ll be posting photos eventually but just as a heads up, here are some details on my black 2014 Mazda 3 (haven’t decided on an asking price just yet):
Currently has about 104,000 miles on it. Driven up and down the highway for the majority of the miles.
Excellent gas mileage: 35-40 MPG on the highway, 30+ MPG in town
Black interior: cloth seats, leather details throughout.
Sunroof
Tinted Windows
Spoiler
New tires put on the car in November 2018
New battery summer of 2019
New brakes front and back February 2020
Includes rubber floor mats, jumper cables
Darrell’s house sold super fast! Like the day after it went on the market! Such a huge blessing!
If you’re interested in taking over Darrell’s lease on a great SUV, give him a shout! He’s got a blue 2019 Ford Edge.
Most of our belongings have sold (definitely all of the large stuff) and we’ve ordered the majority of our furniture for NYC (better sales tax here, going to load up that moving truck!!)
I’ll be looking for a job in NYC closer to the wedding. I am super excited about the opportunities in my field in NYC!
Moving plans have remained the same: Darrell and Penny will move later this month and I’ll be moving after the wedding.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out about this exciting move! We appreciate your patience and prayers!!!
In the meantime, wedding invitations have been mailed, we’re putting the finishes touches on our big day, and trying to soak it all in and enjoy this wild ride!
