Picnic in Central Park
The weather has been absolutely beautiful the last couple days! Upon seeing this week’s weather forecast, we made plans for a picnic in Central Park for Friday afternoon (yesterday). It was glorious and such a mood booster for a week that’s been kind of blah. We rounded up some of our favorite snacks and our new picnic blanket and headed to the park.
We ended up taking way more food than actually necessary haha! Some of my favorite gluten free snacks include: Tate’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, dried cherries, Nut Thins (Hint of Sea Salt), Alouette Spinach and Artichoke dip, aged English cheddar, prosciutto and cantaloupe!
For brand specific products (Tate’s, Nut Thins & Alouette) - back in KY I would always go to Kroger for these yummy snacks. Walmart sometimes has these products depending on the location, however, I’ve never found the spinach and artichoke flavor of Alouette in a Walmart. Here in NYC, I have found these products through a number of grocery delivery options.
Prosciutto and melon is such a great combo and so refreshing on a warm day! Dried cherries are one of my favorites and I really have no idea how I ever came to like them because I’m not big on cherries or cherry flavor otherwise. Tate’s Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies are my guilty pleasure. Nut Thins are my favorite kind of gluten-free cracker. Since they contain nuts, Darrell can’t eat them but he’s not gluten intolerant so he still has a world of cracker options open to him!! Haha
Also, how cute is this picnic blanket?? I ordered it from Target shortly after we moved to NYC. It’s a great quality picnic blanket with a cute little handle you can buckle around it for easy transportation. Even better news? It’s on sale right now!
I took our picnic date as an opportunity to dress up and wore another Target favorite, this ivory midi dress which actually fits me like a perfect maxi dress since I’m short!! I bought it to wear for one of my bridal showers and it is so comfy that I think I’ll be wearing it a lot this summer!
Believe it or not, this adorable rattan bag was under $30! I love the little faux leather details and it has a beautiful floral lining! It’s probably one of my best Amazon fashion finds so far!
And on the subject of fashion… check out our new masks!! My mom made us a few masks recently and I was so excited to “upgrade” from my plain mask to this gingham one!!
Have you gone on any picnics now that the spring is here?
