Today’s adventuring took us to Columbia, SC for the afternoon. We explored the state capitol grounds and walked a few blocks over for lunch at the Blue Marlin. At least by appearances, the Blue Marlin looks like it is housed in an old train station. Talk about exceptional southern hospitality and low country inspired fare!
Read MoreWe took a little adventure to Mount Pleasant today and enjoyed a waterfront, socially distant dinner. We basically made a little date out of going to a different part of the state for a brief meeting. We figured, why not check out a restaurant and make the most of the 6 hours on the road? I reached out to a new IG friend, Brittney, who provided us with some awesome recommendations. We went with one of her suggestions, Tavern & Table on Shem Creek. We were thoroughly impressed with their social distancing precautions and their food!!

That’s one thing we wished we had in NYC and it was a definite perk in picking this apartment. Darrell picked up dinner from a local eatery, Southern Salads and Sandwich Company. This was our first time checking out their restaurant and one that I think we will definitely order from again soon!

Overall, Destin seemed packed but there were a few places that didn’t seem as busy as you’d imagine. It was weird. Some places we had long waits to be seated and others we walked right in and had our pick of tables. But we ate tons of good food so let’s get right to it!
