Read MoreWe took a little adventure to Mount Pleasant today and enjoyed a waterfront, socially distant dinner. We basically made a little date out of going to a different part of the state for a brief meeting. We figured, why not check out a restaurant and make the most of the 6 hours on the road? I reached out to a new IG friend, Brittney, who provided us with some awesome recommendations. We went with one of her suggestions, Tavern & Table on Shem Creek. We were thoroughly impressed with their social distancing precautions and their food!!
Read MoreA new recipe for you all!! And it’s a skillet meal! It feels like forever since I created a new dish and this is a fun one because you can really change it up to fit your family’s preferences! I was inspired by a ground turkey recipe my sister-in-law recently shared with me. Turkey is a no-go for us because of my husband’s poultry allergy but I liked the overall concept and was initally going to just swap out the ground turkey for beef and share another modification blog post about making a recipe work for your particular situation, BUT I ended up creating something entirely different and decided to write my own recipe to share with you guys!!
Read MoreY’all already know we LOVE roasted Brussels sprouts! We tried this recipe tonight and it was tasty, easy and simple! And check back later this week to see the scallop recipe we paired them with!
Read MoreSalads! A long lost friend since coronavirus began. Generally speaking, I’m not a fan of making salads at home because I feel like it doesn’t matter what I do, they do not taste restaurant-quality and the dressings in particular seem to require a ton of ingredients that I don’t keep on hand. So I end buying weird ingredients and the cost adds up, then the DIY dressings rarely taste awesome and I end up with a bunch of random stuff taking up space in my fridge door or pantry because I needed a tablespoon of it once upon a time. Anyone else feel my pain in this department?? All of that to say, I was pleasantly surprised to LOVE this salad!! So much so, I had a bowl of it again today.
Read MoreAfter our wedding, Darrell and I spent the weekend at Boone Tavern for a mini honeymoon. With the pandemic, we couldn’t really go out to restaurants but we enjoyed ordering room service from Boone Tavern’s delicious menu. I was also surprised at the number of gluten free items or alternatives they provided! One night we ordered the most amazing brussels sprouts. When trying to find a recipe to recreate the dish at home, we came across these Maple Dijon Brussels Sprouts. While they’re not an exact match, they’re incredibly tasty and simple!
